This is just stunning!
I'd pay big money to play on that board!
WOW!

Thanks, jstrong. I'm shipping off a picture this week to White Dwarf (American edition). Hopefully they're going to feature it in an upcoming Houston-area in-store event in July. So there will be some folks getting to play on it this summer. But I need to develop a scenario for this board. Perhaps I could enlist your help? I've started a thread here.

Awesome, looking utterly brilliant.
But one thing bugs me...
the Orcs are attacking from the shore where the boats are, in the direction of the buildings. From this angle, we can see that many of the buildings have been damaged (and modelled fantastically, too).
It is probable that damage such as this would have been caused by Orc catapults from the Mordor side of the Anduin.
From this deduction, wouldn't the damage inflicted be on the opposite side of the buildings, as modelled?
I am probably wrong, and it is but a minor quibble in this masterpiece of terrain making.
Taliesin, you never cease to amaze me with your terrain.
Looking forward to the next piece!
Best,
C_c.

Y'know, that's a really good point, Commander_cool. The reason I faced the open side westward is I thought it would make it easier for the player to access and move their models around. But perhaps I should rethink...

Oustanding example.
Are the buildings fixed,or can you re arrange them? That would be great for more variety, as for battle damage it would be fair to say the assault could have come from all sides, if not at once but from a circling attack over time. The details add a lot of life to the terrain I find that adds a lot of atmosphere to the game. I'd also look forward to a few shots of minis in action here.

Yeah, the buildings are totally movable, so I can arrange them anyway I want. I also have a few other pieces in the works, including a Nelson's Column-like monument and a fountain. So I could create a city square and many other configuarations. I also have a 4' bridge that is segmented to so I could make two bridges coming in from the East on this board. And it all breaks down and stores in 2-3 Rubbermaid 78 qt. storage bins.
I would have loved to include some minis in these shots, but I'm afraid we just haven't got around to painting any Gondorians yet—or Orcs! Since we just finished working our way through the Fellowship models, our baddies consist mostly of Ringwraiths, Goblins, and Uruks.

Wow, brilliant...just the one fault that Commander_cool pointed out...though I see your point, in that it probably does make access easier...

I've seen this a couple of times Tal, never really got around to voting. Me being lazy though. As I'm sure you already know and don't need me to point out, that's incredible.
I'd just like to point out something about that "imperfection" afore mentioned. You do realise that Osgialiath was supposed to be ruined before the War of the Ring? The ruined city was simply used as a garrison, so the damage being on the west side doesn't really mean that much; though the orcs would probably be using catapults the most damage seen would have been from long before the time in question.
Or so I think... anyone want to check it up, or something?
But, back to the point of the whole thing, that would be the most ideal board to play an Osgialiath scenario on. Good work, and I hope that your new and hectic life allows, please please, the online LotR SBG community more wonderful terrain projects such as this.
Cheers!

Thanks, cHiMeRa! Yeah, I'm aware of the timeline, but the forces of Mordor would still be attacking from the East no matter what, so probably the building sides that face the river would be most demolished by siege machines.
I have a couple of very nice terrain pieces that I have to photograph and put up here. As soon as I get my new house all unpacked and set-up, I'll post my Amon Hen model up here.
