Currently, I'm collecting predominantly Dwarfs and Easterlings. I play mostly WotR (or rather, will, when I find some players lol). I have some Rohirrim to bolster my Dwarfs and am planning to have Easterlings on camels, a Mumak with Easterling Archers in the howdah, a "Chinese" Cave Drake with Easterling style armour. I alos have plans to make an Easterling style troll, but I later saw someone doing the basics of my idea eithe ron the GW website or in WD and I hope that people don't think I copied it.

Welcome :)
I must admit I haven't been converted to the WoR system yet, though it definitely offers advantages for larger battles (which I don't have).
Hope you enjoy your time here.

Thanks for the welcome!
You should try a game of War of the Ring sometime. Might as well, then you know if you'll want to in future or not ;)

So, two of the strongest armies in the game! (I might be a little biased here, as I collect Easterlings!) I'm kind of interested in an Easterling Troll - don't forget to post your pics on here, for us all to admire. I really want to see how that turns out...

Faramir of Ithilien: Not had enough experience yet to disagree, but I've always liked Dwarfs in any fantasy setting and I alway thought the Easterlings looked cool. Still, if they're strong armies, that'll just make my life a little easier, lol :P
Well, the easiest method I'm thinking for the troll is to get a captain and add the "ears" of the Easterling helmets to his (to cale of course) and create a shield for him, maybe change his sword a little and paint appropriately. I might get a normal armoured troll and replace the hammer/convert their spear into an Easterling style pike and create a shield. That sort of idea :D Just need the money to get the base models lol :P
As for the cave drake: I saw an Chinese style dragon in a pet shop (not ana ctual dragon, it was an ornament for a fish tank) and I'll add some Easterling styled armour to it and aint it appropriately (it's bright yellow, with bright green and red. Think sunburst yellow, goblin green and blood red, with an ultramarines blue nose :P ).
Southdunedain: thanks for the welcome :D

Hashut - I noticed on OR that you're at university in Chester; well, although I'm at university in Durham, my home during the vacs is only 15 miles from Chester...if you're around at Easter, we'll have to meet for a game!

SouthDunedain: I think I sent a PM to you asking where you were. I live in Hoole during term time. Not sure what date I'm around during Easter. let me know when you're free and we can try to meet for a game or two, eh?
Old Dwarf: I knew that there wer SOME "evil dwarves" in the Lord of the Rings book, but I've not actually read them and know nothing of them, lol. Unfortunately, I don't have permission to access the page that the link leads to. I'm considering making an evil/chao dwarf LotR arm, but not sure what would need to be different (if anything) for people to accept it or if I should try a different ruleset for them etc etc.
I think I'll have to ponder on that one ;)

HB-I think you can get into Erebor by going to your User CP
& scrolling down to Groups & click Erebor that should allow you
to enter.Of course the machinery is rather rusty.
Basically these Dark Dwarves were Sauron's weapon Smiths.

Ah, excellent, thank you.
Weaponsmiths for Sauron, eh? Sounds VERY fun ^^ Some simple weapon conversions, maybe some changes to helms and it should be all done :D
Quick question, sorry if you'd prefer it elsewhere, how comes when I click the quick reply, it's still taking me to a new page with the message quoted?

Try hit the arrow in the bottom right of the most recent message in the thread as opposed to the 'New Reply' button. The arrow is the quick reply button and allows you to type your response in the quick reply box at the bottom of the page.
Welcome to the Palantir! (Do I get to welcome people anymore seeing as I'm never here for longer than a day every month and never post anything? Haha)

I had found out that that was how to do a quick reply and it worked the first few times, but it no longer works as one. It seems to act as the "quote this post" button, instead.
Also, thank you very much for the welcome.
As it happens, Erebor wasn't on the list, so I simply joined the other Dwarf group for now ;)
