Ranks, etc.

Hi,

Many of you have probably noticed that your postbit area (that's the box to the left of the posts that has your username, avatar, etc. in it) now also lists your Allegiance as well as a Rank.

Almost everyone is currently listed as the most basic rank in their allegiance, just to get things started off. Over the next few weeks, we'll be updating the ranks based on a number of criteria. Don't expect any MAJOR upgrades to rank, but some of you will definitely have earned them.

We're just getting the work started on this area so bear with us as progress is made. :smile:

Until we get it coded (and even thereafter, to a degree), the Allegiance Leaders will be primarily responsible for tracking specifics for those warriors under their command. A member of Senior Staff will be assigned the responsibility of working with the leaders in order to facilitate the timely update of ranks as necessary.

Good question. We've discussed some possible methods of doing that but I can't say we have finalized anything. Any ideas in that respect?

From me? No.:blush: Well actually, it really depends on how many ranks there are... Then you can start looking at what privileges would be awarded to each rank. But anyway, I have only been here for a short while and my alliance was just changed because of the whole merging of rhun/harad/khand thingy so, yeah, i've not the foggiest.

Have you guys decided on how many ranks there will be? (by the way)

Yes, we have. We've had the ranks set for well over a year - but Taliesin and I just did a refresher for them and they're even *more better* now.

Anyway, if you do think of anything, be sure to let us or your allegiance leader know. We're always looking for input on all facets of the site.

How about giving out stars during the campaign for some achivements. Like lets say someone who can defend his land very well, gets a loyalty badge, or badge of currage, or something like that. Just an idea. (i think it might work within the allegiance.)

Sleepybear, I'm not sure the admin will have the same type of rank icons as those actually participating the allegiance system. We'll see about maybe putting something there though. ;)
