Once again, but this time very lightly, drybrush with Shining Gold, Burnished Gold and finally
Mithril Silver.
In case the armour turns out too bright, again wash it with thinned Chestnut Ink until you
get the desired result.
Step 6 (Painting the Weapons)
Wash the weapon with thinned Black Ink, then again lightly drybrush with Mithril Silver.
Step 7 (Painting the Tunic and Gloves)
Now paint the tunic with an 80:20 mix of Chaos Black (80%) and Scab
Red (20%). Always try to leave very thin lines of Chaos Black between the
tunic and the other part of the model like the armour and belts etc.
Step 8
The next one is done with 20:80 mix Chaos Black und Scab Red.
Now highlight the tunic with pure Scab Red and add some final highlights
with a 50:50 Mix of Scab Red and Blood Red.
Step 9
Should the tunic turn out too dark you can:

Painting the remaining cloth parts (trousers, sashes):
Step 11 (Painting the Face)
First paint the entire face Chaos Black, paint the eyeballs with Skull White
and then paint the pupils with two very thin black lines right in the middle
of the eyes.
Finally just highlight the raised areas of the face just above the eyes with
an 80:20 Mix of Rotting Flesh and Dwarf Flesh.
Step 12 (Painting the Base)
Once dry, wash the sand with pure Brown Ink, then drybrush with Snakebite Leather,
a 50:50 Mix of Snakebite Leather and Fortress Grey and finally pure Fortress Grey.
Now repaint the edge of the base with Dark Flesh again (that gives the base a
much cleaner look) and add some different kinds of static grass to it.
The Easterling is now ready to march!

Step 1 (Undercoat)
Prime with Chaos Black
Start drybrushing the entire armour and helmet with Chainmail followed by Mithril Silver. Gold armour always looks much better when it is painted over a Silver drybrush!
Now drybrush with Shining Gold, followed by Burnished Gold and finally Mithril Silver, until the whole armour has a very bright golden look.
Wash with an 80:20 mix of Chestnut Ink (80%) and Blue Ink (20%), so that the armour gets a very bronze like tone (see Picture - left: before the wash, right: after the wash)
>The next step will take you some time, but it's worth it! Carefully outline every plate of the
armour (as good as possible) with thinned Chaos Black. When done properly, the armour will
look much cleaner and "deeper".
Drybrush (or paint) the entire weapon with Chainmail, followed by a light drybrush with Mithril Silver.
First repaint all parts of the miniature around the armour with Chaos Black.
The first highlight is done with a 50:50 mix of Chaos Black and Scab Red.
Wash the tunic with a dark, thinned down 50:50 Mix of Chaos Black and Scab Red.
a) Add some more highlights with the Scab Red - Blood Red mix.
b) Wash it with thinned down Blood Red.
Base the leather parts of the miniature with Scorched Brown, and then highlight
them with Bestial Brown or Vomit Brown.
You can:
a) Simply drybrush these parts with a 50:50 mix of Chaos Black and Fortress Grey.
b) Highlight them with several mixes of Chaos Black, Fortress Grey and Vomit Brown.
Then wash with thinned down Chaos Black or Black Ink, then do a final light drybrush with Fortress Grey.
Painting the Easterlings faces is actually quite easy, since most parts of their
faces are covered by a black mask. So what you do is this:
Paint the entire base Dark Flesh, then brush thinned PVA adhesive onto it and dip
the base into GW sand.
