Twighlight Ringwraiths Painting Guide Miniatures Introduction In this guide I am going to show you how to paint the Twightlight Ringwraiths using simple dry brushing techniques. Undercoat As always, remove any flash on the model with a file and/or craft knife. Glue the figure into it's base. Once the
glue had dried, using PVA glue, glue sand to the base (optional). Finally, when the base has dried, spray or paint the figure
with Chaos Black. If you spray, touch up the areas you missed with watered down Chaos Black. Robes and Cloaks Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 The Face and Hands Step 1 Step 2 The Hair To make the hair stand out from the rest of the mini, simply drybrush it with Bleached Bone over the
Shadow Grey base coat applied earlier. Some people would rather undercoat it with Snakebite Leather and
then highlight it with Bleached Bone. Personally though, I think this ruins the ghostly feel to the figure. Metallic Areas All that is left to do is the metal areas of the mini. You may need to reapply the Chaos Black under coat after all that dry brushing!
Paint the crown and sword with Bolt Gun Metal. Once dry, carefully give these areas a wash of Black Ink.
Highlight the edges with Chainmail.
Congratulations! You have finished your Twightlight Ringwraith. All you need to do now is base you mini in your chosen method. Conclusion These are really great minis to paint. With the right paint scheme you can really capture the eeriness of the wraiths while
Frodo is wearing the Ring of Power. I hope you have found this guide useful.

Apply a basecoat of Shadow Grey to the entire model, with the exception of the sword. This will act as the
base colour to your Ringwraith's robes and cloaks.
When the Shadow Grey has dried, we can add extra depth to the robes and cloaks on the model by giving it a wash of
1:1 mix of Black Ink and water. Once done, leave to dry thoroughly. This will take a little longer than usual due
to the ink being thinner than paint.
When the ink is totally dry, it's time to start using the dry brushing technique. Firstly dip your paint brush (the older and more
frayed the better) into some Codex Grey. Wipe off most the paint onto a kitchen towel and then start to drag the brush
over the raised areas of the mini (including the face and hands). You will need to do this two or three times to get a nice look.
Repeat the previous process using Fortress Grey. This time however one round of dry brushing should be plenty. The
Codex Grey should still be able to be seen in the recesses.
Once again more dry brushing, only this time we will use Space Wolves Grey. This time only a light dry brushing is required.
The aim is to pick out the raised areas of the robes. The robes are complete to an acceptable gaming standard. To give your model a more
professional look continue onto the next step.
This stage is a totally optional. Add a small amount of Skull White to the extreme raised areas of the robe.
This will help give a ghostly feel to the wraith. The robes are now compete!
Apply a base coat of Fortress Grey to the face and hands. Once that has dried, apply a 6:4 wash of water and
Black Ink. Let this stage thoroughly. Once again it may take a while.
Simply highlight the face with Space Wolves Grey. There isn't really much more you can do with the face as really the
features in the film are lost by the eerie effects of the wraiths. The face is now complete.
