So your friend has a few wargs on his side and you are quickly getting flanked and crushed by the little buggers, in your misery you have thought to yourself, “hmmmmm, how am I going to counter them, I don’t want to get a box of Riders of Rohan (unless you already have some) and I don’t want to paint all of them, I know, I’ll get Radagast!”
Yes this little dude is a real turn table for the forces of good against those pesky wargs, with his brilliant panic steed spell; he can quickly turn the tide your way. Those damm istari have always seemed to me like old men going through mid-life crisis, they are old but still want to fight, and they do a great job of disguising themselves!
Now you have gone out and bought him, got home, had a coke and sat down and said, “Hey how do I paint him?”
Well look no further than here because diamondback43 has got how to paint him right here, and it doesn’t involve too many paints so it doesn’t pack to much punch on your wallet in buying paints for the model.
Even if it isn’t the case with you and the wargs still buy Radagast, he is a great model and was one of my favourites to paint; maybe he will be yours too.
First of all I got the model out of the blister and quickly looked for the base (I’ve gotten of very bad with this a few times before, not getting any bases at all) this time though I got two, well lucky me.
Now get the model and take of all the mould lines by scraping them off with a Stanley knife, and then remove all the loose pieces of metal.
After this I then glued Radagast into the base with super glue and left him to dry while I went and grabbed the sand and pva glue.

Step 5, the tunic
For this part give the tunic a coat a mix of equal part of codex grey, chaos black and scorched brown, then add bleached bone into the mix for highlights.

Step 6, the inner robes
The inner robes were first of all just painted with a mix of 80% bestial brown and 20% scorched brown, with bleached bone adde into the mix for highlight.

Step 7, the skin
First of all I gave him a bestial brown coat for his skin, then a layer of tanned flesh, then a watered down brown ink, then another layer of dwarf flesh, then a final highlight of elf flesh (make this highlight as fine as possible) then a watered down flesh wash was applied over the skin.

Step 8, the beard
His beard was given a mix of equal parts of codex grey and scorched brown, and then a drybrush of codex grey on its own, then fortress grey was drybrushed over, then a final highlight of skull white.

Step 10, the staff
The staff was given a coat of scorched brown then a highlight of bestial brown. The stone on the top was painted codex grey, then drybrushed with fortress grey then a highlight of %50 fortress grey and %50 bleached bone was done.

Step 11, the sword, leaves, shoe and the belt
The sword was just painted with Chainmail; the leaves were painted dark angels green and highlighted with goblin green. The belt was painted with scorched brown and highlighted with snakebite leather. Lastly the shoes were painted with scorched brown and highlighted with bestial, then a watered down brown ink was applied over that.

And your done!
And with those steps you can paint up your Radagast the Brown in no time, ready to take on all the wargs in the world!
Happy Warg Hunting!
